Yellow Female Guppy

A clear, warm yellow with a lighter belly. Simple in pattern and among the easiest guppies to keep.

Care

• Water: 22-28°C, pH 6.8-7.8. Very tolerant of hard water, which suits Cape Town tap water well.
• Tank: Minimum 20 litres per guppy, 45cm wide or larger. Heavily planted and well oxygenated.
• Males: Males are territorial towards one another. One male per tank, or space them out with planting that breaks sightlines.
• Diet: Quality flake daily plus live or frozen food. Guppies breed readily on a full diet.
• Breeding: Livebearers, giving birth to free-swimming fry. Separate the young or provide dense planting if you want them to survive.

Yellow females are often kept alongside a smaller livebearer or in a planted community tank where the colour reads well.
