DietOmnivorous. Feed quality fine flakes with small live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia. This cool-water minnow does well in unheated rooms.
CompatibilityPeaceful and very hardy. Keep in a school of 6 or more of its own kind. Compatible with other cool-water fish such as other minnows, danios and small loaches. Not suited to warm tropical community tanks.
SetupDoes not require a heater; comfortable at normal cool room temperatures of about 15-22 C. A well-planted tank with open swimming areas, gentle filtration and some shade suits them.
Care LevelVery undemanding. Weekly 25% partial water changes and a good quality varied diet. Because they prefer cooler water, keep them away from warm tropical tankmates.
Please ensure you can provide a suitable, cycled tank before ordering. Young bettas may mature after arrival.
