About this pack

Female guppies are the easy-going half of the species. There is no territorial behaviour between them, no fin-nipping and no chasing – a group of five settles into a planted tank quickly and keeps itself busy.

Sex ratio is not an issue with females, which makes this the easiest way to start a livebearer tank or add to an existing community. As with any assorted lot, individual colouration and pattern cannot be guaranteed – you will receive five healthy females from the varieties currently available.

Five works well in a 60-litre-plus tank. In a smaller tank, go for the group of 5 and keep it short.

Care

• Water: 22-28°C, pH 6.8-7.8. Very tolerant of hard water, which suits Cape Town tap water well.
• Tank: Minimum 20 litres per guppy. Males need 90 litres plus and heavy planting.
• Diet: Quality flake daily plus live or frozen food.
• Breeding: Livebearers, giving birth to free-swimming fry.

Stock note: the larger option is 10 fish plus 1 free, so you receive 11 guppies at the price of 10. Stock is limited by what each shipment can safely carry, and we cap group numbers accordingly.
