About this product

The Bolivian Butterfly Ram is a dwarf cichlid from the South American blackwater tributaries of the Rio Guapore. It is a different species to the Ramirezi rams, and is generally the easier of the two to keep.

Bolivian Rams are peaceful, hardy and tolerant of a wider range of temperature and hardness than German Blue Rams, which makes them a good choice for a planted community aquarium. They are recognised by the elongated first ray of the dorsal fin.

Note: the photograph is a representative image of the species. Individual fish vary in colouration and pattern.

Full care requirements are in the Care Guide tab.
