DietAlgae grazer — algae wafers and blanched vegetables like zucchini and spinach plus calcium-rich foods for strong shells. Supplement if the tank is spotless.
CompatibilityPeaceful — safe with calm community fish. Avoid loaches, puffers and large cichlids that eat snails. May nibble soft plants when underfed.
SetupA tight lid leaves humid air space for breathing and egg-laying above the waterline. Hard, clean water with gentle filtration. Smooth decor protects the shell.
Care LevelWeekly partial water changes of 25%. Hard, alkaline water with calcium keeps shells strong — soft acidic water erodes them. Keep the tank covered; they lay clutches of eggs above the waterline.
Please ensure you can provide a suitable, cycled tank before ordering. Young bettas may mature after arrival.
